fear god and dread nought

The story goes that Lawrence, Kansas' Zoom were touring and that one night after a show in Pheonix, a man approached them. He introduced himself as Greg Sage. Of course, there were a lot of things they should have known at this point. For instance, that Greg Sage had been the frontman of The Wipers. They should also have known about his well-publicized eccentricities. They did not. But this Greg Sage fellow liked their brand of raw roots punk (ala Wipers). He offfered to produce some tracks for them. Zoom had nothing better to do. Upon entering Greg Sage's recording studio they noticed that his spread of recording equipment was impressive and singular. Sage told enthusiastically them that THE ALIENS who had obducted him (eccentricities!) had taught him to make all of the equipment. Perhaps out of charity, they decided to let this guy take a crack at it.
The material Sage recorded for them turned out great. You should listen to both Zoom and the Wipers.
