The Books' song "Tokyo" is being used in HIV/AIDS PSAs. Obiviously a good cause but not one that I'll totally enjoy associating with what is perhaps their best song. But whatcha gonna do (go AWOL?)? J.S. Mills, right?

Also, it seems that Thunderbirds Are Now! were less than impressed with Omaha when they rolled through, even dissing the bar they played at - note the abhorrent reaction to the bar's (gasp) television set. Apparently they would have preferred a more pretensious venue than O'Leaver's. They do, however go on to devote a healthy amount of space to Lawrence Fucking Kansas (it has an Urban Outifitters and a Vietnamese restaurant!). On behalf of all of us, I'd like to say snap, Thunderbirds are Now!
